Tensas Parish

Tensas Parish is located in the northeast region of Louisiana and is home to roughly 5,000 residents. The parish was founded in 1843 and is named after the Taensa Native American Indians. The western portion of Tensas Parish contains parts of the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge and the Big Lake Wildlife Management Area. Also contained within the parish is Lake Bruin State Park, where avid fishermen enjoy plentiful catches and beautiful sights. Tensas Parish has the distinction of being the least-populated parish out of all sixty-four parishes in Louisiana. The parish seat of Tensas Parish is located in the city of St. Joseph and the parish is neighbors with Madison Parish to the north and Concordia Parish to the south.

Thousands of people are injured every year in Louisiana as a result of motor vehicle collisions and hundreds of more are killed. In 2013, nearly 69,000 people suffered injuries in car accidents and 668 people were killed. Vehicular accidents can be tragic, life-changing events for the victims and their families, leading to life-altering injuries that can adversely change lives forever. The causes of these accidents can occur in a multitude of ways, from a distracted driver not paying attention to the road in front of him to a reckless driver operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Sometimes, however, the circumstances surrounding a car accident can be complex, which leads to difficulty determining who is liable for the accident and thus liable for resulting damages. An experienced personal injury attorney is needed to assess these complex situations and aid victims in their quest to obtain just compensation.
