St. Mary Parish

Located in South Louisiana on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, St. Mary Parish is home to roughly 53,000 residents and was founded in 1811. The parish contains the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge, which is primarily used to shelter the endangered Louisiana black bear population. The parish seat is located in the city of Franklin, and it’s largest city is Morgan City. St. Mary Parish is perhaps best known for opening Louisiana’s first land-based casino, the Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel in Charenton. Some of the vibrant annual festivities that occur in St. Mary Parish include the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival and the Cypress Sawmill Festival, where attendance is estimated to be around 35,000 individuals each year. The parish neighbors Iberia Parish to its north and Terrebonne Parish to its south, St. Martin Parish to the east and Assumption Parish to the southeast.

Car accidents are a common occurrence in today’s time and it is important to protect every right you have if you ever find yourself in one. In Louisiana in 2013 alone, over 68,000 people were injured as a direct result of motor vehicle accidents and an additional 668 more people were killed. A competent personal injury attorney can guide you through the accident process, help determine fault, and can take your claim to court where he will see that you receive the just compensation you deserve.
