Jefferson Davis Parish

Jefferson Davis Parish was founded in 1912 and is named after Jefferson Davis, former Confederate Army General. Together with present-day Allen Parish and Beauregard Parish, Jefferson Davis Parish was originally part of Calcasieu Parish before becoming an independent parish. Home to over 31,000 residents, the parish is located in the western region of the state and has its parish seat located in the city of Jennings. Jefferson Davis Parish is home to part of the Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, sharing the 35,000 acre area with Cameron and Evangeline Parishes. Kids can enjoy the features of the Children’s Telephone Museum located in Jennings, an interactive learning experience that teaches the history of communication, and their adult parents can enjoy the Coushatta Casino and Resort located in Kinder.

Car accidents can occur at any location and at any time, and the causes of these accidents range from inattentive drivers to alcohol-impaired drivers. Nearly 69,000 people were injured in car crashes in Louisiana in 2013, which equates to roughly 189 people injured each day. Another 668 people were killed in vehicular collisions, but car accidents do not have to be fatal in order for them to devastate victims and their families. If you or a loved one was injured in a motor vehicle accident, you should immediately consult a skilled personal injury attorney who can help protect your rights.
