Grant Parish

Grant Parish is home to roughly 22,000 people and is located in North Central Louisiana. Grant Parish was one of eleven “Reconstruction” Parishes, and created from parts of neighboring Winn and Rapides Parishes. The parish was named after President Ulysses S. Grant and was founded in 1869. The parish seat is located in the city of Colfax, which is named after President Grant’s first vice president, Schuyler M. Colfax and is the largest city in the parish. Grant Parish is home to part of the Kisatchie National Forest, Louisiana’s only national forest. The Louisiana Pecan Festival is a three-day event that occurs annually every November in the parish, drawing many tourists in neighboring areas to downtown Colfax to take part in the festivities. Grant Parish is neighbors with Natchitoches Parish to the west, La Salle Parish to the east, Winn Parish to the North and Rapides Parish to the south.

Car accidents are a common occurrence in today’s time and it is important to protect every right you have if you ever find yourself in one. In Louisiana in 2013 alone, nearly 69,000 people were injured as a direct result of motor vehicle accidents and an additional 668 more people were killed. Vehicular collisions can be caused by a variety of ways; for example, many car accidents are caused because drivers are spending too much time on their cell phone and not enough time paying attention to other drivers on the road. A competent personal injury attorney can guide you through the accident process, help determine fault, and can take your claim to court where he will see that you receive the just compensation you deserve.
