East Feliciana Parish

Located south of the Mississippi border, East Feliciana Parish is home to over 20,000 people and was founded in 1824. Feliciana Parish, named for the Spanish term that roughly translates to “happy lands,” was one of the original founded parishes in 1812 when Louisiana entered the Union. The parish was divided in two after citizens who inhabited present-day West Feliciana Parish complained of the difficulty of traveling eastbound during bad weather seasons; thereafter, East Feliciana Parish was born. The parish seat is located in the city of Clinton and the largest city in the parish is located in Jackson. East Feliciana Parish is known for its wealth of historic, antebellum landmarks along with its vast and beautiful countryside.

Motor vehicle accidents are responsible for hundreds of deaths each year in Louisiana. Over 660 people were killed in car accidents in 2013 and over 68,000 more were injured. Vehicular accidents can be caused by any number of reasons, from simple inattentiveness to the reckless act of driving while intoxicated with drugs or alcohol. If you or a loved one was injured as a result of a motor vehicle collision, you should consult a skilled personal injury attorney who can help you protect your rights.
