St. James Parish

Home to nearly 22,000 residents, St. James Parish was founded in 1807 as one of Louisiana’s original nineteen parishes and is named for James the Just, a Christian saint who served as the first bishop of Jerusalem. The parish seat is located in the city of Convent and the largest city in the parish is located in Lutcher. The famed Oak Alley Plantation is located in St. James Parish and serves as a beautiful example of the parish’s rich history. St. James Parish is neighbors with St. John the Baptist Parish to the east and Assumption Parish to the west.

Car crashes can simply be unavoidable occurrences and can too often lead to catastrophic and even fatal injuries. Nearly 69,000 people suffered injuries in the state of Louisiana in 2013 as a result of motor vehicle collisions, and an additional 668 lives were lost. Car accidents are oftentimes avoidable however, and they can sometimes be caused through a driver’s fault or negligence, such as inattentive driving or driving under the influence. A skilled personal injury attorney can assess the circumstances of any motor vehicle accident and confidently determine liability in order to figure out who will be responsible for paying the damages caused by the crash.
