Cameron Parish

Cameron Parish is located in the southwest corner of Louisiana, sharing a border with Texas and extending deep into the Gulf of Mexico, and is the parish with the largest land area, totaling 1,932 square miles. The parish was formed in 1870 from parts of neighboring Calcasieu Parish and Vermilion Parish and is home to roughly 6,700 residents. Cameron Parish is named after Simon Cameron, who was Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of War at the beginning of the American Civil War. The parish seat is located in the city of Cameron. The parish houses the Cameron National Wildlife Refuge, which contains a 9,600-acre habitat for many threatened or endangered animal species found in Louisiana.

Motor vehicle accidents are commonplace in today’s society and can happen anywhere and at any time. Roughly 69,000 residents were injured in car crashes in Louisiana in 2013 and an additional 668 lives were lost. Vehicular collisions can lead to catastrophic injuries that devastate victims and their families, perhaps simply because a distracted driver was not paying attention to the road in front of him. It is pertinent for anyone involved in a motor vehicle accident to immediately consult with a skilled personal injury attorney in order to protect their rights and determine liability.
