Iberville Parish

Iberville Parish, home to over 33,000 residents, is located south of Baton Rouge, the state capital, and was founded in 1805. Named after Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville, founder of the French colony of Louisiana, Iberville Parish was formed from parts of present-day Ascension and Assumption Parishes. The parish has a rich agricultural history and has been the longtime leader of sugarcane production in the entire state of Louisiana. Iberville Parish is home to part of the Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge, sharing its 1.5 million acre habitat with neighboring St. Martin Parish.

Motor vehicle accidents are common occurrences in today’s society and they can happen anywhere and at any time. Roughly 68,500 people were injured in vehicular crashes in Louisiana in 2013 and an additional 668 lives were lost. An accident does not have to be fatal to produce lifelong repercussions that can devastate victims and their families. It is important for anyone involved in a motor vehicle collision to immediately consult with a well-versed personal injury attorney in order to learn about and protect their rights.

  • Fifteen people were injured and three more were killed in alcohol-related crashes.
