Born in South Carolina, Blake R. David was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana nearly his entire life. Mr. David is currently a partner at the firm of Broussard & David LLC in Lafayette, where he specializes in personal injury and wrongful death litigation with an emphasis on offshore/maritime, aviation, products liability, industrial accident claims, and automobile and trucking accident claims. In 2007, Mr. David was lead counsel in a successful wrongful death jury trial that was recognized nationwide as one of the Top 100 Verdicts of 2007 (VerdictSearch).

Prior to litigating, Mr. David was a registered lobbyist with Haynie & Associates in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Political Science and English from Louisiana State University in 1997, and he earned his Juris Doctorate from LSU in 2001 (licensed in Louisiana since 2001).

Mr. David's professional associations include: the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association (Board Member), American Inns of Court of Acadiana (Treasurer; Executive Board Member), the American Association for Justice, and the Louisiana Association for Justice (Board of Governors; Legislative Committee). Mr. David is also a founding member of the Lafayette-Acadiana Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and served as chapter President in 2007. This bar association provides lawyers, especially young lawyers, an opportunity to interact with the federal judges, meet with colleagues and attend seminars for CLE credit.

Mr. David currently serves on several community organizations as well, including: Downtown Development Authority (Board Member), Downtown Lafayette Unlimited (Executive Board; Past President), and serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. Mr. David is a founding board member of "the705", an emerging leaders organization focused on leadership in the community.

In 2006, The Daily Advertiser recognized Mr. David as "20 Under 40", an honor designating Mr. David as one of Acadiana's 20 most successful business persons under 40 years of age.

Additionally, his passion for LSU Sports has led him to serve on the TAF Advisory Board and as President of the Acadiana Tigers (2006), the official Acadiana area LSU/TAF booster club. He has also been elected to the Parish Council at St. Mary Catholic Church, where both he and his wife serve as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. In addition to numerous civic activities, Mr. David handles pro bono cases through his law practice.

He and his wife, Amber Rains David (LPBA Bar Auxiliary Secretary), reside in Lafayette with their son.
